HCS012 FAQ

Rain Gauge Fails to Pair with Hub

Pairing Steps:
Open the app, select "Add Sub-device" → "Rain Gauge" to enter pairing mode (the app will start a countdown).
Before the countdown ends, install the rain gauge’s batteries to complete pairing.
Note:
Ensure the hub is in pairing mode before powering on the rain gauge.
Keep the rain gauge close to the hub during pairing.

Rain Gauge Not Updating Rainfall Data

  • Check if the tipping bucket’s protective tape is removed:
Open the rain gauge cover and remove the fixing tape from the tipping bucket.
  • Check for mechanical issues:
Ensure the tipping bucket is not stuck. Manually adjust if needed.
  • Check distance & interference:
Place the rain gauge closer to the hub (avoid thick walls, glass, or electronic interference).
Most issues are caused by weak signals.
  • Test for hardware failure:
Pour water slowly into the funnel (or manually tip the bucket).

Inaccurate Rainfall Readings

  • Verify bucket flips match reported data:
Each tip = 1mm rainfall. Manually flip the bucket (e.g., 10 flips = 10mm) to test.
  • Ensure proper installation:
Check if the rain gauge is level (adjust using the built-in bubble level).
  • Calibrate if needed:
If the error persists, manually measure rainfall and calibrate in the app (±20% range).

How to Reset Rainfall Data

Delete the device in the app to clear historical data.
Reinstall batteries carefully:
