Please leave your questions in the comments or contact our support team:support@rainpointonline.com

The gateway cannot connect, shows as offline or disconnected. The button is also unresponsive?

    Possible Causes and Solutions:

Incorrect Wi-Fi Password: Please confirm that the entered Wi-Fi password is completely correct.

Too Far from Router or Unstable Signal: Please move the gateway closer to the router to ensure a stable signal.

Router Malfunction: Please check if the router is functioning properly (e.g., restart the router). If there was a power outage, ensure the router has resumed normal operation.

Network Environment Issues: An unstable Wi-Fi network itself may cause connection failures.

Final Step: Please follow the steps in the "Connection" section of the product manual to retry connecting the gateway. If the problem persists, please contact our customer service department for assistance via email: support@rainpointonline.com.

    Flow meter data is inaccurate?

    Possible Causes and Solutions:

      • Incorrect Installation Angle: The water timer should be installed vertically to the ground. Installation at any angle may affect the accuracy of water volume recording. Please adjust to a vertical position.

      • Normal Margin of Error: The normal error margin for water flow counting is approximately ±5%.

      • Debris in the Inlet: Regularly clean debris from the inlet to prevent it from affecting measurement accuracy.

The timer is not executing irrigation as scheduled?

    Possible Causes and Solutions:

      • Low Power Protection Mode: When the battery is very low, the timer enters a low-power protection mode and stops executing schedules. Please replace with new batteries.

      • "Rain Delay" is Set: Please check if the rain delay function is enabled.

      • Unstable Network or Response Delay: Network issues may prevent commands from syncing in time.

      • Debris in the Inlet: Debris entering the filter may interfere with the normal execution of the irrigation program and requires regular cleaning.

Why is the soil moisture sensor giving inaccurate readings?

    Possible Reason:

      • Hard Soil Conditions: The sensor may be touching stones or hard, rocky soil, which interferes with proper moisture detection.

      • Incorrect Installation: The sensor may not be inserted deeply enough into the soil, or it may be loosely inserted, leading to unreliable readings.

    • Solution:

      • Avoid placing the sensor in areas with stones or hard, compacted soil.

      • Reinsert the sensor firmly into the soil until it reaches the "BEST" line indicated on the sensor. Ensure it is snugly placed for accurate measurements.

Why does the system not start irrigation when expected?

    Possible Factors & Solutions:

      • Smart Scene Disabled: The automated irrigation schedule linked to the rain sensor may be turned off.

        • Solution: Go to the app and TURN ON the corresponding smart scene.

      • Sensor Sensitivity Setting: The rainfall trigger threshold may be set too low, so light rain prevents the system from starting.

        • Solution: Adjust the rain sensor sensitivity by moving the adjustment cap to a less sensitive position (allowing more rain accumulation before triggering).

      • Sensor Obstruction: Objects such as overhangs, tree branches, or walls may be blocking rain from reaching the sensor.

        • Solution: Check for and remove any obstructions above the sensor to ensure it can accurately detect rainfall.

Why does the system not stop irrigating even after heavy rain?

    Possible Factors & Solutions:

      • Sensor Discs Not Dry: The sensor's moisture-sensing discs may still be wet, preventing the system from resuming.

        • Solution: Check if the sensor discs are dry. Ensure the sensor's mechanical switch clicks freely when dry.

      • Switch Failure: The internal switch may be stuck or malfunctioning.

        • Solution: If the switch does not move or click freely, the sensor may need inspection or replacement.

      • Low Sensitivity Setting: The rainfall trigger may be set too high, so the system does not recognize current rain as sufficient to stop.

        • Solution: Adjust the sensor sensitivity by moving the cap to a more sensitive position (so it triggers with less rain).

      • Accuracy Verification: The sensor's calibration may differ from actual rainfall.

        • Solution: The rain sensor is an accurate rain gauge. You can verify its readings by comparing with a nearby tube-style rain gauge.
